Stitch Red book party with Trisha Malcolm

June 26, 2012

Our second Stitch Red event was last Wednesday, June 20th. What a great night it was! Trisha Malcolm, the editor of Vogue Knitting, was at the shop to discuss how Stitch Red and the Knit Red book came about. Trisha was a bit concerned on Wednesday morning that the 95 degree temperature would keep people away. We assured her that a little heat would not deter our loyal knitters and it didn’t.

Trisha brought along a few goodies to be raffled off in addition to the ones that had been donated by Knowknits, Tahki Stacy Charles and KFI. Thanks to the generosity of our vendors and the women present, we raised over $100 for The Heart Truth.

Not only did Trisha bring raffle prizes, she brought us an additional unexpected treat – a preview of the new Early Fall issue of Vogue. The ladies were privy to an advance preview of the upcoming magazine. What a treat it was! We can’t wait to get started on those new projects.

During the evening, we introduced our next Stitch Red Project – The Stitch Red Blanket Project/Raffle. Packets were handed out to all the women present and the response was amazing. Everyone was onboard. Trisha was excited about the raffle and suggested (and with her help) that we contact Laura Zander to come for our November Stitch Red event when the blanket winners will be announced. Info on this project is available in shop.

A great big thank you to Trisha for braving the traffic on the LIE and the heat. Thanks to all the ladies who attended and make this event so successful.
